In 30 years of working in close contact with the sea, we at MareVivo have made sustainable seafood production one of the pillars of our company’s mission, which focuses primarily on open-sea aquaculture, mussel purification, and seafood processing.

Constant monitoring of every stage in the supply chain, from sourcing to processing, allows us to offer the market products that are both high-quality and eco-friendly. Our traceability system and proper labeling ensure transparency regarding origin and processing methods. Moreover, our aquaculture products result from entirely natural processes that help promote the growth of animal and plant species in the surrounding habitat.

Friend of the Sea: our commitment has been recognized

Friend of the Sea is a respected non-governmental organization whose primary goal is the protection of the marine environment. The NGO has developed internationally recognized certification programs for sustainable fishing and aquaculture. The criteria required to obtain this certification are highly stringent and are evaluated through regular third-party audits.

MareVivo, after undergoing thorough assessments by Friend of the Sea, has received this prestigious certification. Our long-standing environmental awareness, which drives us to constantly innovate our methods and technologies, has been rewarded. Among the criteria the company must meet are compliance with local, national, and international regulations, the use of eco-friendly technologies that do not harm the marine ecosystem, and the protection of native fish species. In addition to these standards, MareVivo boasts an efficient short supply chain system, ensuring the freshness of local catches and farm-raised mussels.
